Proprietary research is the hallmark of our process

Great investments know no borders. That’s why we search the world to uncover the most attractive investment opportunities for our clients.

Global research has long been a primary part of our DNA. In fact, one of our affiliates was among the first American money management firms to make an investment outside the U.S. back in 1953.

The Capital Group Companies organization now has 12 global research offices located in key cities around the world, including Los Angeles, New York, London, Geneva, Beijing, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Our portfolio managers are supported by a team of more than 100 analysts representing a diverse cross-section of cultural and professional backgrounds.

The analysts who work alongside our portfolio managers within Capital Group Private Client Services share their research with one another through industry cluster groups and often make joint company visits to get the full picture about a potential investment. This ensures that portfolio managers can hear multiple perspectives before making a decision.

Instead of relying on Wall Street publications or outside opinions, we conduct our own proprietary research, which is not sold or made available to any outside parties.

We adhere to a multilayered investment approach built around constant communications among our portfolio managers, analysts and members of our in-house Capital Strategy Research team. This group of economists conducts extensive analysis that helps shape our views about the overall economic environment.

To say our process is thorough is an understatement. As illustrated below, investment ideas go through intense scrutiny before making their way into a client’s portfolio.
